2025 World Qualifiers

What are the World Triathlon & Multisport Championships? 

World Triathlon is the international governing body for the Olympic sport of triathlon and all related multisport disciplines around the world.

Each year, there are three world championship events:

1. World Triathlon Multisport Championships

2. World Triathlon Championship Finals

3. World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships

Age Group World Championship

Teams consist of top performing age-group athletes in Canada who earn a spot at a Qualification Race to represent Canada on the international stage at the World Triathlon Championships.


How many spots are available?

Club spots are open to members of Triathlon Saskatchewan and other Provincial Triathlon Sport Organizations in Canada though the Athlete Excellence Program spot is only available to members of that program.

Complete These Steps (Both Pathways)

1. Register for Echo Lake Multisport Festival

2. Fill out the event specific EOI by Triathlon Canada

3. Consider to join Athlete Excellence Program (AEP): To increase your chances of getting a spot and prepare for the championships!


Where are Saskatchewan’s World Qualifying Events?

1. Echo Lake Multisport Festival (July 5-6, 2025) [Registrations Available]
2. Frank Dunn Triathlon (Aug 10, 2025) [Sold Out]

Echo Lake Multiport Festival has the following spots available:

1. Sprint Non Draft and Draft Legal Triathlon (1 spot** per age group*, per gender and 1 spot for members of Tri Sask’s Athlete Excellence Program)

2. Standard Triathlon (1 spot** per age group*, per gender and 1 spot for members of Tri Sask’s Athlete Excellence Program per gender, per age grouping)

3. Sprint Duathlon (1 spots per age group*, per gender)

4. Standard Aquabike (1 spot** per age group*, per gender and 1 spot for members of Tri Sask’s Athlete Excellence Program per gender, per age grouping)

*5 year age grouping
**Must submit EOI prior to the event 

Frank Dunn Triathlon has the following spots available:

Long Distance Triathlon (1 spot per age group*, per gender)

*5 year age grouping
**Must submit EOI prior to the event 


How to Express Interest in Qualifying

An expression of interest (EOI) is the mechanism to state your intention to compete for a qualifying spot.

By expressing interest and paying the fee, you will be included in the list of athletes that will be compiled from race results and sent to Triathlon Canada, who will contact you about the Age Group team and World Championships.

If you become eligible to claim a spot, you must meet the following basic criteria:

1. Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada

2. Be a member in good standing with a Triathlon Provincial Sport Organization (PSO)

3. Be a member in good standing with Triathlon Canada (included in annual provincial membership)

4. Must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) PRIOR to each Qualification Event
