Sanctioned Clubs
The sport of triathlon has a proud history of sport development and leadership through the formation of local triathlon clubs in Saskatchewan. Led by Frank Dunn, the multisport community of Prince Albert began forming in the 1980’s through the organization of our longest running race, the Frank Dunn Triathlon. Both the Saskatoon Triathlon Club and the Regina Multisport Club were formed in the early 1990s. Most recently, triathlon has grown in the South East with the emergence of the Wolseley Triathlon and Wolseley Triathlon Association in 2022. Throughout the past twenty years, Saskatchewan has seen local communities organize to provide triathlon events across the province.
Today, all Triathlon Saskatchewan sanctioned races are organized and supported by the volunteers of club local organizing committees (LOCs). Our clubs offer a range of triathlon and multisport events for those who wish to meet friends, learn a new skill, stay healthy, or compete at the highest level. Clubs also provide learning opportunities for group training and development and social activities. At Tri Sask, we work to support the Clubs to put on safe, sanctioned events. We also support leadership and member education and development, provide grants for membership activities and events, and community through the ever-important role of sharing experiences and stories.
Multisport races and events require a great number of volunteers. A typical ratio at one of our races is one volunteer for every two athletes. Please support our clubs by joining and, more importantly, getting involved!
