Geared towards all levels of athletes\, this race includes a 750m open water swim at the main beach\, a 20k bike ride around the lake and a 5k run in the beautiful park. The race also offers a modified Try-a-Tri distance which is a 375m swim\, 20k bike\, 2.5k run. \nA special feature of this race is our Swim Angels. If you are nervous about the swim\, these experienced ‘angels’ will swim alongside you and guide you through the course. Of course\, they can’t help you swim (ah shucks!) but they will be there for support and to help you relax. If you’re interested\, simply request one on your registration form. \n​All participants will receive a special swag package with their race registration. There will also be post-race celebrations at the finish line that will also include lunch and snacks from local vendors and tons of prize giveaways from local businesses. Additional meals tickets will be available for purchase in advance. \nAs well\, we will be hosting an open-water swim\, bike and run clinic for new and returning triathletes to run through the course with us at Echo Lake. These clinics will be hosted before the race in May and June with dates to be announced soon. We have 2 groups: a KOS group ages 9-12 and a Youth/Junior Group ages 13-19. In this camp athletes will learn how to swim in the open water\, how to ride a bike and proper run form and technique. All levels and abilities are welcome as we would like to introduce more athletes to the 3 sports in triathlon and how to be successful on race day. For any athletes in the KOS on Saturday this camp would give them the skills to swim and run at their best. Athletes do not need to attend all practices\, but it is recommended to do as many as possible.
