Q: When did you start Triathlon? What drew you into the sport?
A: My first triathlon was 2011 at Frank Dunn Triathlon, held in Waskesiu each year! I grew up watching and participating as a team and I knew one day I wanted to try the full race myself.
Q: What are some successes you’ve had recently?
A: I finished second at the 2022 Ironman Canada which qualified to compete at the Ironman World Championships in Kona this past October! I finished 20th in my age group in a time of 10h18m
Q: How has Triathlon impacted your life and well-being?
A: Triathlon plays an important part in my life. I enjoy having a goal to work towards as well as challenging myself to achieve it. The desire to improve my performance helps me make healthy choices in all aspects of life.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
A: My advice for new triathlete or those still debating is, Start racing local and short, take time to build up to longer distances. Enjoy the training, the race is just the celebration of your hard work.
Q: Is there anyone you would like to thank?
A: I look up to my mother, who is also an avid racer and an active member of the Triathlon Saskatchewan community. My mom is an inspiration to be active for life!
